Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) experienced in working with clients of all ages, from children to adults. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-sensitive yoga, and Gottman Method Couples Counseling. Amanda specializes in working with individuals and couples struggling with self-esteem, identity exploration, trauma, relationship challenges, body image concerns, anxiety, ADHD, LGBTQIA+ issues, and neurodivergence, including supporting clients who were diagnosed with Autism later in life. As someone who identifies as queer, she understands the importance of creating a safe and affirming environment where clients from all backgrounds feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing.

Many of Amanda’s clients come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of who they are outside of what others expect from them. They may struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, low self-esteem, body image concerns, relationship challenges, or the lasting effects of past experiences. Often, they’re highly self-aware and have spent years trying to figure things out on their own, but haven’t had a space where they can fully show up as themselves and feel genuinely understood.

Her approach is warm, relational, and nonjudgmental. Clients often describe therapy with Amanda as feeling like a conversation with a trusted friend who truly listens while also helping them see things differently and grow. She integrates talk therapy, somatic approaches, and Gottman Method techniques to help clients better understand themselves, identify their needs, build healthier relationships, and create meaningful change.

When Amanda is not in therapy sessions, she enjoys long walks with her dog, Rossi, reading or listening to audiobooks, watching game shows or Bravo, baking, and trying new coffee shops.

Rest is not laziness.
Rest is not falling behind.
Rest is not something you have to “earn” after completely exhausting yourself.
In a culture that constantly pushes productivity, slowing down can feel uncomfortable, guilt-inducing, or even wrong. But your body was never designed to stay in survival mode all the time.
Rest helps regulate your nervous system, improve focus, restore energy, and create the capacity to keep showing up for the things that matter to you. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.

Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic attacks or obvious worry.
Sometimes it looks like:
-Overthinking every decision
-Putting things off because you’re afraid of doing it wrong
-Needing constant reassurance
-Trying to keep everyone happy
-Feeling like you have to earn your worth through productivity or perfection
These behaviors are often protective responses rooted in anxiety. Understanding the "why" can help us foster self-compassion instead of shame.

Happy Pride Month!
.
Pride is more than parades and celebrations-- it's feeling safe enough to exist as your true self, being seen without having to shrink, mask, or explain who you are, it's having spaces where your identity is respected, affirmed, and celebrated.
.
At EWC, we recognize that many LGBTQ+ individuals have struggled with experiences of judgment, rejection, or hypervigilance. We're here to support you through deep healing. We're proud to support LGBTQ+ mental health this month and every month.
