Changing your body positioning can be grounding because the body and nervous system are directly linked. When someone is anxious, their body often mirrors that state (tight muscles, shallow breathing, collapsed posture, frozen stillness). Shifting your position interrupts that automatic pattern and gives the nervous system a new cue.
