You’d probably never interrupt your boss mid-sentence, scroll your phone while they’re talking, or half-listen while thinking about your response. But in relationships, it’s easy to slip into those habits without realizing it.
Feeling heard isn’t about agreeing on everything. It’s about being present, curious, and actually taking in what the other person is saying. The same attention you give in professional spaces can completely shift the way you show up in your relationship.
What would change if your partner felt just as heard as your boss?

While building self-confidence can be a long journey, the answer is simple (although much more challenging in practice!): act the way you want to feel. Research on cognitive dissonance says that when our words don’t match our actions, we change our beliefs to match our actions. So if you act confidently, eventually your brain will start to believe it.
